The CNC Burn Table Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC burn tables, typically plasma or oxy-fuel cutting machines, to cut metal materials according to specifications. This role requires a combination of technical skills, including blueprint reading, CNC programming, and machine operation, as well as attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. The position is an Individual Contributor role, directly reporting to the Supervisor.
Normal work environment will be a shop or field, requiring exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.
Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, vision, hearing, lifting, carrying, and operating with varying frequency and load. Additionally, the role requires use of tools such as tape measure, stencils, bevel gauge, hand torch grinding, level, chalk line, and sledgehammer, and personal protective equipment including hardhat, safety goggles with side shields, hearing protection, gloves, and safety toe shoes.
Work environment factors include exposure to wet or humid conditions, electrical hazards, fumes, noise, burns, odors, extreme cold or heat, vibration, explosives, mist, mechanical hazards, radiant energy, and gases. All operations comply with OSHA standards.
