Oertel Metal Works, part of McCarthy Bush Corp., is seeking a 3rd shift welder in Davenport, Iowa. Qualifications

• Experience in welding, fabrication, assembly, or CNC machining.
• Must have a current, valid driver’s license.
• Able to work independently and be mechanically inclined.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG and stick welding across fabrication steps.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and safety practices.
• Operate forklift and move materials as needed.
• Set up or operate equipment and assist with shipping/receiving and assembly.
• Support other shop tasks as required.

Oertel Metal Works is currently seeking a 3rd Shift Welder based out of Davenport, Iowa. We’re open to union welders at any level: Tradesman, Apprentice or Journeyman. Have welding experience, but haven’t been through an apprenticeship program? You can join us as an Industrial Worker.

The Welder is responsible for MIG, TIG and stick welding across various steps of the fabrication process, while helping to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the shop. This could also include operating a fork truck, moving materials, setting up or operating equipment, assisting with shipping/receiving and assembly, or other shop tasks.

What Makes You Successful In This Position

• A current, valid driver’s license
• Experience in welding, fabrication, assembly, or CNC machining
• Previous work experience working with your hands and physical labor
• Must be highly motivated, able to work independently and think of yourself as mechanically inclined

This position works Monday to Friday from 9:30pm to 6:00am each day, with the option for overtime. Pay is commensurate with experience and union status.
