Oertel Metal Works is looking to hire an ManufacturingEngineering Intern for Summer, 2027. Applicants pursuing any level of college degree in an engineering program are encouraged to apply. This will be a full-time role scheduled 32-40 hours per week, with a flexible start date based on school timelines.

What can you expect in this role?

At Oertel Metal Works, we are looking for highly motivated interns who want to learn more about Manufacturing Engineering from a fabrication and steel perspective. Interns will be based out of our location in Davenport, Iowa.

Under the supervision of our Estimating an Project Management Teams, responsibilities will include:

• Develop standard work processes and procedures for operators
• Assist with equipment installation and integration
• Lead change through root cause analyses and “5 Why” methodology
• Assisting with drawings, sketches and concepts on potential projects
