Job summary

O'Neal Steel in Peru, IL is hiring a Loader for the 3rd shift to load/unload materials in a warehouse. You will operate equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, and conveyors, and ensure safe, efficient handling in a busy distribution center.

The role requires adherence to DOT weight regulations, accurate order verification, and a commitment to quality. Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 11pm–7am, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating material handling equipment in a warehouse.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Commitment to safety procedures and quality output.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment including overhead crane, forklift, and conveyors.
• Apply critical thinking for planning and problem solving in daily tasks.
• Ensure loads meet DOT weight regulations and confirm order accuracy.
• Verify material, quantity, packaging, and special instructions for each order.
• Perform loading duties 70% of the time or more.
• Use hand tools (grinder, bander, drill, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench).
• Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow established safety procedures.
