Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, is seeking a Test Engineer- Manufacturing Quality for the 3rd shift at our Louisville, KY plant. You will lead test systems, develop and validate test methods, and ensure equipment is reliable to prevent lost starts.

You will troubleshoot test equipment, analyze data, and partner with process improvement and maintenance teams to sustain quality and uptime across the production floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
• 5 years’ of demonstrated success in manufacturing quality disciplines.
• 3-5 years of troubleshooting and supporting manufacturing test equipment.
• Experience with manufacturing quality/NPI quality projects and process improvement.
• Experience interpreting data to solve problems; statistical analysis.
• Experience with lean manufacturing in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to work in large cross-functional teams across organizational levels.
• Strong communication skills; report outs to leadership.
• Exposure to basic electrical components; computer literacy: Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement new test methods to enhance capabilities, support growth, model introduction, and improve outgoing quality via enhanced test firewalls.
• Write and analyze Test Codes for leak and flow rates, wattage, resistance, Hipot, Ground bond and other basic test parameters.
• Drive project improvement through Test Systems; organize project leaders around goals.
• Implement Poka-Yoke methods and develop standard work to aid training and consistency.
• Review daily test loops for equipment failure; coordinate with maintenance for repairs.
• Act as first point of contact for test equipment issues on the production floor.
• Maintain, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on test equipment; ensure spare parts and troubleshooting procedures.
• Sustain related duties as assigned; own calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Own spare parts availability and troubleshooting procedures to minimize downtime.
