Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Montpelier, IN is seeking a Tapping Machine Operator for 3rd shift, with training on 1st shift. You will start machines, gauge parts, record SPC data, and move tubs using a pallet jack.

Base pay is $22.60 per hour plus a 7% shift differential; overtime is expected. Benefits include medical, dental, 401(k), and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Mathematical ability and practical application of percentages and ratios.
• Ability to read and write, effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand written, verbal or diagrammatical form of instructions.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, push, pull and reach.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be part of our team located in Montpelier, IN. You’ll get to:

• Starts machine and observes operation, making adjustments as needed.
• Gauging and checking parts for each catch pan, for conformance to specifications.
• Record and plot on SPC charts
• Record production on daily sheet
• Operate PIV and electric pallet jack to move tubs and load machines
• Must be able to work overtime
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Who You Are

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Mathematical ability and practical application of percentages and ratios
• Ability to read and write, effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to understand written, verbal or diagrammatical form of instructions
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, push, pull and reach.
• Ability to lift and/or carry 5-25 pounds regularly and occasionally 25-65 pounds with assistance.
