Job Description

This position supervises leads and mechanics in their daily activities. Responsibilities include repairing, installing, and performing preventive maintenance on all production equipment to ensure optimal operation. The role requires electrical and mechanical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, install, and conduct preventive and interactive maintenance on all production equipment accessories, ensuring all equipment remains in good working condition.

  • Develop, implement, and follow up on plans to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Perform safety and sanitation audits; actively participate in safety, quality, and food safety committees.
  • Conduct training sessions for department employees as needed.
  • Monitor and ensure effective operation of the work order system, addressing safety, food safety, and operational work orders promptly.
  • Ensure equipment operates safely and complies with OSHA regulations.
  • Keep employees informed about their work assignments, progress, and opportunities for advancement.
  • Maintain and improve the preventive maintenance program, ensuring schedules are followed.
  • Ensure all plant equipment is properly maintained per manufacturer recommendations and scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Suggest modifications to equipment to improve performance, safety, or food safety, upon management approval.
  • Train mechanics and production personnel in troubleshooting techniques and equipment operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. At least 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant, preferably in bakery or food/beverage manufacturing. Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience or 4 years as a lead in a manufacturing environment. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read electrical diagrams; strong electrical skills on power and control systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and PLC programming.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical codes.
  • Experience working with regulatory inspectors (AIB, BRC, OSHA, etc.).
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Leadership and team supervision skills.
  • Multicultural communication and operational skills in an international environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work night shifts.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
