Job summary

ITW in Portland, OR is looking for a manufacturing worker to support daily operations on the production floor. You will perform machine checks, verify changes, label finished goods, and prepare products for shipment in a fast-paced environment.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; forklift experience and basic computer skills are a plus. Candidates should be detail-oriented, safety-minded, and able to work overtime or independently as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily checks to detect malfunctions of machine and reports them.
  • Performs red rabbits (camera verification) after each machine changeover.
  • Label finished goods using scan gun.
  • Prepares product to ship free of mixtures and product defects.
  • Weigh and check finished goods.
  • Cross-train with department coworkers to increase knowledge, flexibility, and efficiency.
  • Maintains equipment including daily inspections.
  • Follow all rules, regulations and work processes set forth by the company.
  • Hold self-accountable to create and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Competently perform all tasks with a focus on safety within a fast-paced environment.
  • Scanning work in process and finished goods
  • Wrapping products using automated wrapper and hand wrapping
  • Maintains knowledge of quality guidelines at ITW
  • Notify supervisor of issues with machine for maintenance
  • Daily 5S responsibilities and other duties including 5S and LPA audits.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience or training is a plus
  • Experience with operating a forklift

  • Effectively communicate in a professional demeanor when dealing with the public or any level of employees.
  • Ability to safely work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
