Job summary

JBS Pork is hiring for a Sanitation general laborer on the 3rd shift in Ottumwa, IA. This full-time position reports to the Sanitation Supervisor and supports production by cleaning and sanitizing facilities and equipment.

You will operate sanitation tasks, use PPE, lift up to 50 pounds, work at high speed, and follow food safety protocols while maintaining a safe workplace. JBS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Responsibilities

• Properly maintain and sanitize facilities (casings) machinery and equipment for efficient production.
• Operate heavy equipment.
• Must use proper personal protective equipment effectively.
• Expected to work hands on at high speed and times to lift over 50 pounds.
• Must keep work areas clean and follow proper food safety protocols.
• Must adhere to JBS specifications in product to ensure quality of meat.
• Stay aware of your surroundings and notify a supervisor if you recognize a hazard.
• Perform various cleaning and sanitation tasks with little supervision including scrubbing walls, floors, tables, hallways, etc.
• Perform various other duties as needed or as assigned.
