Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a refrigeration maintenance technician to assist the supervisor in coordinating daily plant maintenance tasks on third shift.

The role focuses on ensuring safe operation of equipment and minimizing downtime by performing preventive maintenance and emergency repairs. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, interacting with team members, and supporting a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
• Some departments are hot/wet or cold/wet.
• Must be able to push/pull/lift over 40 lbs and climb ladders above 10 feet.
• High school diploma or industrial maintenance training or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to use SCBA equipment.
• 1 year refrigeration experience or enrollment in a refrigeration program/diploma.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor in coordinating daily department responsibilities and communicates instructions to the team.
• Provide maintenance support to ensure safe and effective operation of equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment.
• Conduct emergency mechanical or electrical repairs as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment; minimize downtime.
• Interact with plant personnel to achieve plant and individual goals.
