Job summary

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream is seeking a QA Technician to perform comprehensive testing of raw materials and finished products, monitor in-process inspections, and maintain detailed logs for quality assurance in a fast-paced ice cream plant.

Responsibilities include GMP compliance, line quality audits, HTST chart verification, and timely escalation of findings to QA leadership, ensuring product safety and readiness for distribution.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to follow GMPs and quality procedures in a food manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving and mathematical skills essential for inspection and data logging.
• Ability to work across shifts in a fast-paced ice cream production facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform raw material and finished product testing using microbial, chemical, analytical, physical, and sensory methods.
• Maintain logs and records for non-conforming materials, corrective actions, environmental results, and finished product microbiology.
• Verify QA checks, HTST charts, and associated paperwork; perform verification checks as needed.
• Provide front-line support to operations; respond to issues on the factory floor and escalate to QA as appropriate.
• Support line inspections after sanitation and conduct line audits/DMAs per QA Supervisor guidance.
• Release materials on QA hold in the JDE system and communicate holds to production and QA staff.
• Participate in GMP execution across the facility and follow safety protocols; perform other duties as assigned.
