Job Summary
We are seeking a **Quality Assurance Technician** to join our Quality team. This role serves as the primary point of contact for our Food Safety and Quality Programs, ensuring all products meet regulatory, customer, and internal standards for safety, quality, and compliance. This is a 3rd shift position, Monday-Friday 11pm-7:30am. It will require one week training on 1st shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main contact for Food Safety and Quality programs, with deep working knowledge of all protocols
- Ensure adherence to product safety, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards
- Conduct routine tests on in-process and finished products to assess brix, pH, bostwick, total acid, vitamin C, and other critical metrics
- Analyze test outcomes to provide feedback and determine product disposition
- Evaluate equilibrium product testing to decide on next steps or final approval
- Administer and audit the Finished Goods Retention Program quarterly
- Understand and perform laboratory testing procedures and sensory evaluations
- Collaborate with production teams to uphold manufacturing quality standards
- Maintain and log non-conforming materials or products, assist with investigations
- Perform quality line audits and inspections during assigned shifts
- Collect and prepare product samples for testing
- Act as an escalation resource for quality concerns and ensure cross-functional communication
- Follow GMP policies and maintain a clean, compliant work environment
- Record, review, and interpret testing data accurately
- Support facility and sanitation verification programs by conducting environmental swabs (ATP, allergen, etc.)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field preferred (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in quality or food science; prior experience in food manufacturing highly preferred
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Basic math and measurement skills, including temperature and weight conversions
- Commitment to regular and punctual attendance
