Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker's Montpelier, IN facility is seeking a Punch Press Setup/Operator to operate punch presses, read micrometers and calipers, and perform die-setups to ensure quality production.

You will load steel, move scrap and finished parts, operate PIV and overhead cranes, and maintain housekeeping. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, with mechanical aptitude and forklift/crane skills highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret blueprints.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge and ability.
• Able to lift 5–25 lbs regularly and 25–65 lbs with assistance.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to operate forklift and overhead cranes.
• Basic math skills required.
• Read and understand measurements and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Operate punch press and perform die set ups.
• Read measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
• Adjust and replace tooling to maintain quality.
• Load steel; move scrap and finished parts from machinery.
• Operate PIV to deliver tubs and raw material to equipment.
• Use cranes to move steel throughout the department.
• Operate die cart to load/unload and transport dies.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

As a Punch Press Setup/Operator you'll be part of our team located in Montpelier, IN. You'll get to:

• Operate punch press
• Reads measuring equipment: micrometers, calipers and such
• Performs adjustment and replacement to maintain a quality product
• Complete all die set ups in press.
• Load steel ; moves scrap and finished parts from machinery
• Operates PIV to deliver tubs and raw material to machinery
• Utilize crane s to move steel throughout department
• Operates die cart to load/unload and transport dies
• Maintain housekeeping standards
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Walking, standing and moving for 8 hour shif t .
• Bending, reaching and climbing occasionally.
• Use of eyes for visual inspection of parts .
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, push, pull and reach.
• Ability to lift and/or carry 5-25 points regularly and occasionally 25-65 points with assistance .
