Job summary

STANLEY® Engineered Fastening is seeking a Punch Press Setup/Operator for the Montpelier, IN facility. You will operate a punch press, read measuring tools, and perform die set-ups to ensure quality parts.

Training on first shift is provided, with a 2nd shift from 2pm-10pm and a starting rate of $24.02 per hour plus a 5% shift differential. You will work in a dynamic manufacturing environment, handling steel, scrap, and finished parts, while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge.
• Drive and operate forklift.
• Operate overhead cranes.
• Read blueprints.
• Basic mathematical understanding.
• Good communication skills, verbal and written.
• Able to write simple sentences to provide information.
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry ability.
• Analytical skills to evaluate and solve die/press problems.

Responsibilities

• Operate punch press.
• Read measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers).
• Adjust and replace to maintain quality products.
• Complete all die setups in press.
• Load steel; move scrap and finished parts from machinery.
• Operate PIV to deliver tubs and raw material to machinery.
• Utilize cranes to move steel throughout department.
• Operate die cart to load/unload and transport dies.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Operate punch press
• Read measuring equipment: micrometers, calipers and such
• Perform adjustment and replacement to maintain a quality product

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical understanding and ability (add, subtract, divide units of measurement).
• Common sense understanding to carry out work instructions.

• Basic computer knowledge and ability to find information and enter data.
• Analytical skills necessary to evaluate and solve die and press problems to run quality parts.
• Walking, standing and moving for 8 hour shift.
• Bending, reaching and climbing occasionally.
• Use of eyes for visual inspection of parts.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, push, pull and reach.
• Ability to lift and/or carry 5-25 points regularly and occasionally 25-65 points with assistance.
