Job summary

American Boxboard LLC in Bedford Park, IL seeks a Production Supervisor to oversee the Production Department, plan daily production, and supervise staff. You will drive efficiency, coordinate scheduling, and maintain quality and safety across shifts.

The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset with Lean/Six Sigma exposure. Reporting to Plant Superintendent, responsibilities include audits and interdepartmental coordination.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Manufacturing (packaging environment a plus).
• 3+ years’ prior Supervisory experience.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Strong computer (MS Office) and communication skills (oral and written).
• Strong continuous improvement mindset (Lean, 7S, Six Sigma)
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent trouble-shooting skills for Quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Production Department and labor inputs.
• Coordinate daily planning and production schedules.
• Train and supervise all non-maintenance employees and contractors.
• Communicate interdepartmentally to accomplish goals.
• Drive efficiency of equipment while maintaining high quality.
• Provide daily performance feedback, coaching and mentoring to Production Employees.
• Plan daily manpower assignments to maintain production and control labor cost.
• Lead safety and quality initiatives and ensure compliance with PPE and safety programs.
