Job summary

Teknor Apex Fountain Inn is seeking a Unit Operator for the 3rd shift (10:40pm–7:00am) at our on-site South Carolina plant. The role covers weighing raw materials, operating melt mixing equipment, and packaging finished PVC pellets according to the production schedule.

You will read processing instructions, work with the crew, and follow safety procedures while maintaining efficiency. The job requires lifting up to 50 lbs, forklift operation, and willingness to overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets documents and uses basic math for production calculations.
• Regular and predictable attendance in a continuous production environment.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds several times per shift.
• Willingness to work 2nd/3rd shift and overtime as needed.
• Able to operate a forklift safely with a valid license.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that all equipment necessary for melt mixing is operating safely and properly.
• Obtains all necessary processing instructions to produce pellets as per the manufacturing schedule.
• Follows all set up conditions; maintains contact with crew lead and supervisor with questions.
• Communicates processing information or quality concerns with fellow operators and relief staff.
• Provides break relief and is flexible to fill in on any job or line as needed.
• Successfully passes probationary period (90 days).
• Keeps a tidy workspace and demonstrates teamwork.
• Overtime may be required during absences or busy periods.
