Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for High Point Medical Center Laboratory. This full-time 3rd shift role runs Monday through Thursday, 8:00 PM–6:30 AM, focusing on accurate blood collection, labeling, and prompt delivery to the appropriate lab sections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• CPR certification is required.
• ASCP, AMT, ASPT or equivalent certification from an accredited phlebotomy program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and promotes teamwork.
• Assures accurate and timely collection of blood specimens.
• Ensures correct identification and delivery of patient samples to lab sections.
• Follows safety and identification procedures when dealing with patients and specimens.
• Demonstrates knowledge of phlebotomy and supports daily routines.
• Maintains inventory and performs clerical functions (lab orders entry into LIS, reports, requisitions).
• Performs specimen processing and may perform waived testing.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
