Job summary

Palermo's is seeking a Packaging Operator on the 3rd shift to operate and monitor packaging equipment, keep lines running safely, and ensure our pizzas meet quality standards at the West Milwaukee facility.

You’ll set up machinery, perform changeovers, inspect labels and seals, troubleshoot minor issues, and record operating data while collaborating with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to hit daily goals.

Qualifications

• Experience operating packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Food manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn equipment operations and basic troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform basic math.
• Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust packaging equipment to keep lines running smoothly and minimize downtime.
• Set up machinery and perform changes during production and product changeovers.
• Inspect packaged products for proper labeling, sealing, and coding quality.
• Identify and troubleshoot minor equipment issues; escalate major problems to Maintenance or leadership.
• Monitor packaging materials and replenish supplies to maintain continuous production.
• Complete production documentation and record operating information accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following food safety procedures.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to meet daily goals.
