Job summary

Palermo's Pizza is seeking a Packaging Operator on the 3rd shift to keep our pizza production lines running safely and efficiently. You will operate and monitor packaging equipment, ensure proper labeling and quality, and collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver great pizzas to customers across the country.

Located in West Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this role offers hands-on training, opportunities for advancement, and a benefits package that starts after hire.

Qualifications

• Experience operating packaging equipment in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience in food manufacturing is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn equipment operations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust packaging equipment to keep lines running smoothly.
• Set up packaging machinery and handle changeovers between products.
• Inspect packaged products for proper labeling, sealing, coding, and quality.
• Identify minor equipment issues and report major problems to maintenance.
• Monitor packaging materials and replenish supplies to avoid downtime.
• Record operating information and complete required production documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow food safety procedures.

In this role, you'll operate and monitor packaging equipment, ensure products meet our quality standards, and work alongside a dedicated team to deliver great pizza to customers across the country.

Our fast-paced manufacturing environment features production and packaging equipment, with dedicated team members working together to ensure our pizzas meet the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency.

What you’ll do…

• Operate, monitor, and adjust packaging equipment to keep production lines running efficiently and minimize downtime.
• Set up packaging machinery and make necessary adjustments during production and product changeovers.
• Inspect packaged products to ensure proper labeling, sealing, coding, and overall quality.
• Identify and troubleshoot minor equipment issues, communicating more complex problems to Maintenance or leadership.
• Monitor packaging materials and replenish supplies to maintain continuous production.
• Complete required production documentation and accurately record operating information.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following food safety, quality, and company procedures.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance team members to meet daily production goals.

What You Bring…

• Previous experience operating production or packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in food manufacturing or a similar fast-paced production setting is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn equipment operations, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing safe, high-quality products.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, complete basic production documentation, and perform basic math.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with manufacturing operations.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures, maintain good attendance, and work in a team-oriented environment.
