Job summary

JobSquad is seeking a Packaging Operator for the 3rd shift in Melrose Park, IL. You will load materials, monitor machines, perform basic troubleshooting, and ensure packaging lines run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities include following GMP, sanitation, allergen controls and HACCP/SQF requirements, lifting up to 50 pounds, and maintaining a clean workspace. You will communicate with team leads to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• 1 year of packaging operator experience or equivalent.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Must understand FDA guidelines, GMP and allergen procedures.
• Ability to stand for long shifts and climb steps.

Responsibilities

• Pack and operate packaging lines on the 3rd shift and monitor equipment.
• Follow packaging schedule, ensure quality, weights and dates are correct.
• Clean machines and work area during and after production runs or changeovers.
• Maintain safety and sanitation per GMP, HACCP and SQF requirements.
• Report safety and quality issues to supervisor and team.
• Communicate with management to align on procedures and issues.

Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits: $17 to $19 p/hr depending on experience

Job Description: Packing Operator - 3rd Shift

Job Requirements

• 1 year of packaging operator experience Setup machines, conduct basic troubleshooting, loading, films, settings, monitors to assure all is running efficiently.
• Monitor and assist with equipment upstream/downstream to ensure continuous operation.
• Follow packaging schedule, quality control and sanitation procedures concerning, weights, packs, descriptions, Best Buy dates, cleanup, and changeovers Observe all plant safety, GMP and allergen procedures and attend appropriate training sessions.
• Clean machines and work area properly during and after production runs or changeovers Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following GMP, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
• Report all food safety and quality issues to your supervisor Must be able to communicate with others as well as management understand FDA guidelines and company policies.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area Understand and follow Food Safety policies.
• Ability to work in a standing position for entire shift and climb steps and ladders.
