Day Kimball Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician for the 3rd shift in Putnam, CT. The role involves testing patient samples and delivering quality results using clinical lab equipment, with a focus on patient safety and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and order entry, inquiry and specimen tracking.
• Strong communication skills, including written and verbal, and critical value reporting.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and hazardous chemicals used in the lab.
• Understanding of anatomy and medical terminology.
• Ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and work with abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates clinical lab equipment and interprets results with feedback when abnormal.
• Identifies patient samples and correctly accession them into LIS with proper codes.
• Handles hazardous materials per state/federal guidelines and runs quality controls.
• Performs phlebotomy services as needed during shift.
