Day Kimball Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician for the 1st shift in Putnam, CT. The role involves testing patient samples, operating clinical lab equipment, and ensuring accurate results with proper safety practices.

Qualified candidates will have MLS/MT certification and preferred 5 years hospital lab experience, along with strong communication skills and knowledge of OSHA regulations. The position includes benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• ASCP MLS or AMT MT certification required.
• 5 years hospital laboratory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems including order entry, inquiry and specimen tracking.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates Clinical Lab equipment according to policy and manufacturer guidelines.
• Identifies and accession patient samples into LIS with correct IDs and test codes.
• Handles hazardous and biohazard materials per state/federal guidelines.
• Runs controls and verifies quality of testing before releasing results.
• Provides phlebotomy services to patients as needed.
