Job summary

Collins Aerospace in York, NE is hiring for a 3rd shift deburring/assembly role. You will use hand tools to deburr parts, set up laser markers, assemble components and read complex drawings to ensure quality and compliance with GD&T standards.

You will maintain production records, monitor tolerances, and identify process improvements while supporting safety and shift objectives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 2 years of related experience.
• Basic math skills, including decimals.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn multiple applications.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

• Use a variety of hand tools to remove Burrs, or sharp edges.
• Perform machine setup and runs on laser marking machines
• Assembly of components
• Read, interpret and comprehend, process prints, engineering and quality standards, and other informational drawings and work instructions.
• Monitor part specific dimensional tolerances while performing the operation & identify non-conforming part features
• Maintain accurate documentation and system inputs (shop traveler, labor charging, production tracking software, inspection results, etc.)
• Identify and report process inefficiencies, machine issues, and improvement opportunities
• Follow work priorities to accomplish production goals
• Can handle contact with coolants, cleaning fluids, and oils (petroleum based products) and chemical vapors from products during the normal manufacturing
• Obtain and maintain required Inspection Certification(s)
• Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned
• 3rd shift: Sunday – Thursday, 11:00 pm – 07:00 am

What You Will Learn

• Precision deburring process to print specifications.

• Reading/interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Cross-functional collaboration through various types of manufacturing and processes.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires HS diploma or equivalent or in the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting decimals
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use multiple computer applications (including email, internet, and other job-specific applications).

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with measurement equipment, i.e. gauges, calipers, etc.
• Experience with basic hand tools.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and following blueprints.
