Job summary

Owens Corning Stokesdale, NC is seeking a forklift operator to safely provide materials to machine centers and support efficient plant operations. The role requires operating forklifts, maintaining clean, organized bays, following safety rules, and meeting daily production needs during the 3:00 PM–1:30 AM shift Monday–Thursday with overtime as needed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, good communication, ability to read a tape measure, and the capacity to pass forklift exams;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, 18+ years old.
• Able to communicate effectively in writing and speech.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Able to pass forklift written exam and driving test.
• Able to work independently while maintaining material availability.
• Good hand-eye coordination and mechanically adept with forklift controls.
• One year of manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely provide materials to machine centers to maximize plant operations.
• Obtain forklift certification and follow safety rules.
• Keep doors, aisles, panels, and extinguishers clear at all times.
• Ensure trash is dumped daily or as needed.
• Report forklift or building damage immediately.
• Tag and band material securely before placing in bays.
• Learn RF and QAD functions for material handling.
• Perform end-of-shift center audits and report issues.
• Carry loads safely at the required speeds per training.
• Maintain safety around pedestrians and personnel.
• Perform required maintenance checks on schedule.
• Keep bays 18 inches from walls and 3-foot aisles.
• Organize bays and perform 5S housekeeping.
• Communicate well with other lift drivers across shifts.
