Job summary

Kennametal Inc. in Bedford, PA seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift (11:00 pm–7:00 am) to perform predictive and preventive maintenance on CNC equipment to maximize uptime.

Requirements: High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s in Electrical/Controls preferred; 5–10 years’ CNC maintenance experience; knowledge of plumbing, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, seals and motors/controls; SAP-PM and Step7 knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering preferred.
• 5–10 years’ experience as CNC Maintenance Technician preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, seals and electric motors and controls.
• Preferred knowledge SAP-PM and Step7.
• Knowledge and ability of rigging equipment and components.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Evaluate equipment for improvements to increase uptime, capability and yield.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and document corrective actions in technical reports.
• Assist in installing new or relocated equipment with proper sizing, wiring and piping.
• Coordinate with contractors and external teams for upgrades and repairs.
• Safely handle hazardous materials and wastes and maintain safety protocols.
