Job summary

Utz Quality Foods, LLC in Algona, Washington is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift to troubleshoot and repair food manufacturing equipment, from PLCs to packaging machines and temperature controls. You will perform preventive maintenance and assist with installations from drawings.

The role requires 5–7 years of manufacturing experience, strong electrical, welding, plumbing, machining skills, and knowledge of safety and lock-out/tag-out procedures.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing setting (food manufacturing a plus).
• General electrical knowledge including blueprint reading and schematics.
• General plumbing involving water, gas, and drainage systems.
• General Welding including ARC, Oxyacetylene, torch.
• Machining and Lathe operations.
• PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) knowledge.
• Safety practices including lock-out/tag-out and food safety.
• Experience with general category tools (hammers, pliers, grease guns).
• Knowledge of parts procurement and inventory processes.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs manufacturing equipment (motor controls, drives, packaging machines, PLCs).
• Repairs facility equipment types (lift trucks, pumps, fans, HVAC).
• Troubleshoots and repairs PLC-controlled equipment.
• Prepares, coordinates, and implements preventive maintenance.
• Installs/repairs from schematics and drawings.
• Capable of minor electrical installations.
• Responsible for quality and food safety tasks.
