Job Description

Position: Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift

We have an opening to join our Whitewater Team as a Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift. This position provides maintenance and repairs at our plastic manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, building, and facilities under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Key elements include preventative maintenance, cost control, ensuring machine uptime, and producing quality products. Assignments are given with general supervision, and work should be completed correctly the first time. A positive attitude towards safety and continuous improvement is essential.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all equipment and facilities, including production machines.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and identify root causes using data; recommend improvements for reliability.
  • Install and test new machinery or equipment with guidance from suppliers and engineering.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and suggest improvements to PM plans.
  • Build platforms, stands, carts, and tables for production.
  • Operate basic maintenance shop utility equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the department.
  • Accurately record work activities, quality data, and update files using maintenance planning software.
  • Follow PPE and safety protocols.
  • Train team members as directed.
  • Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and OEE.
  • Assist in preventative maintenance planning, execution, and record keeping.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Self-motivated, organized, team-oriented, with strong follow-through.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on injection molding presses.
  • Repair custom-built machinery.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and automation is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Use measuring devices and diagnostic tools effectively.
  • Consistently meet quality and departmental standards.
  • Possess or obtain forklift and scissor lift certifications.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years' maintenance experience in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience in machine preventive maintenance and repair is highly desirable.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Work in a setting with dust, noise, and temperature variations.
