Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Dayton, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic on 3rd shift. You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic systems, install and start equipment, and maintain safety and performance records.

The role requires PLC programming, safety consciousness, and the ability to work overtime as needed. Ideal candidates have tech/trade school certification, experience across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields, and the ability

Qualifications

Educational certification from tech or trade school beyond high school.
Must be safety conscious.
Experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and diagnostic instruments.
Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.
Computer experience and PLC programming
High precision work with tight tolerances.
Ability to climb in overhead structures and work in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment.
Plans and performs work with knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards.
Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment per safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
Advises operators/line mechanics on safe operation of equipment.
Maintains maintenance records for equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance as directed.
Assists and trains other maintenance staff.
