Job summary

Pioneer Metal Finishing is the leading surface engineering company in North America seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a 3rd shift (11pm-9am, Monday–Thursday) with occasional overtime. You will perform maintenance, installations, and repairs to keep the plant and offices running smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment, electrical, mechanical and plumbing work, preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety and EPA regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Fabrication experience preferred, or similar experience.
• Broad based knowledge of electrical, mechanical and plumbing acquired through hands on training.
• Technical degree with a minimum of two (2) years work-related experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Blueprint & schematic knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, installations, and repairs of equipment and building support systems that are necessary to the operation of the plant and offices at the facility.
• Communicates preventive maintenance checks.
• Diagnose & resolve equipment malfunctions and operating difficulties related to, but not limited to, cranes/hoists, 3 phase motors, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, HVA units, pumps, exhaust fans, etc.
• Perform mechanical, electrical and plumbing operations.
• Performs start-up and shut-down functions on plant equipment and facilities as required.
• Works consistently to resolve site safety issues in a timely manner.
• Responsible for maintaining departmental documentation as required.
• Workings safely at all times in compliance with OSHA safety and EPA regulations.
• Adheres to all Quality System procedures and work instructions.
• Works closely with EHS Leader in the handling, labeling, containment and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Responsible for monitoring wastewater discharge for color/quality.
• Fill chemical tanks as needed for continued wastewater treatment.
• Empty filter press as required.
• Assist in any spill clean-up operations.
• Maintain an organized and clean operating area including cleaning empty drums if needed.
• Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions, as directed by the Maintenance Manager
