Job summary

Hood Container Corporation in Burgaw, NC, seeks a Machine Helper to support setup, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment in the Converting department. You will assist operators, monitor performance, perform basic maintenance, and help meet daily output and quality targets.

This role emphasizes safety, quick learning, and teamwork. The shift runs Mon–Fri nights, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and maintain a clean, efficient production floor.

Qualifications

• Able to read a tape measure and +/- fractions.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn machine operation procedures.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist machine operators in setting up and operating manufacturing equipment.
• Monitor machines during operation to detect any irregularities or malfunctions.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished products as required by the production process.
• Follow all safety guidelines and report any safety hazards or equipment issues to supervisors promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of machine performance and maintenance activities.
• Support the production team in meeting daily output goals and quality standards.
