Job summary

Hood Container Corporation, a family-owned mill-to-market producer of containerboard and kraft paper, seeks a 3rd shift Production Supervisor in Wilmington, NC. This role leads the production floor, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time output while coaching hourly staff.

You will work with Safety, Maintenance, Customer Service, and other departments to meet goals, drive continuous improvement, and develop team members for higher performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five or more years of leadership experience.
• Previous supervisor in manufacturing or corrugated industry preferred.
• Customer service-related experience or equivalent training and experience in plant operations.
• Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment.
• Basic computer experience (Excel and PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead safety to support excellence within the plant.
• Drive quality initiatives by leading processes to achieve KPI targets.
• Minimize waste through training and accountability.
• Drive 5S initiatives and housekeeping.
• Increase throughput by improving uptime and production speeds.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to manage PMs and work orders.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings with Customer Service, Design, Sales, and Production.
• Review production reports for accuracy and coach employees to maximize effectiveness.
• Mentor hourly employees to achieve production goals.
