Job summary

Mom's Meals | A Purfoods Company in North Jackson, OH seeks a Lead Inventory Control Specialist. This hands-on role is ~50% counting inventory, maintaining FEFO and lot-code accuracy, and supporting operational issues.

The other half involves researching root causes, guiding the Inventory Specialist team, and implementing permanent corrective actions with supervision. You will help drive KPIs and continuous improvements across the facility.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ Cycle Count or Inventory Coordination experience.
• Cross-functional team meeting experience preferred.
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficient in Excel; able to build clear reports.
• Lift certification must be obtained within 30 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Physically count inventory and ensure FEFO and lot code tracking.
• Build and use reports to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Reconcile and resolve second inventory count records.
• Update ERP/WMS with count results and related data impact on inventory integrity.
• Maintain and report KPIs around first-pass accuracy.
• Ensure Root Cause Reports are completed by Inventory Control Specialist.
• Lead cross-functional corrective actions to eliminate root causes.
• Drive continuous improvement to streamline product flow and system scans.

Job description

The Lead Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for inventory accuracy in the facility. This position is a hands-on position, and it’s estimated that approximately 50% of a typical day will be physically counting inventory, ensuring proper FEFO, Lot Code tracking, and assisting with operational issues. The remaining time will be spent researching root causes and/or working with Inventory Specialist reviewing their root cause findings and proposing and implementing permanent corrective actions to supervisory and management staff.

Monday-Friday from 11pm to 7am

Position Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To

• Physically count items in inventory using appropriate processes, and forms
• Build and use reports to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
• Reconcile and resolve any second inventory count records
• Update ERP/WMS system with Count Results and other items that affect inventory integrity
• Maintain and report KPIs around first-pass accuracy
• Ensue that Root Cause Report is being filled out by Inventory Control Specialist
• Manage Team effectively to maintain goal of 100% inventory accuracy
• Actively drive continuous improvement initiatives that streamline and simplify the flow of product and associated system scans
• Proactively set up and drive cross-functional corrective actions plans to eliminate root causes identified and support the change process

Required Skills And Experience

• High school Diploma or GED
• 2+ years’ Cycle Count or Inventory Coordination experience
• Prior cross-functional team building experience, or prior cross-functional team meeting experience
• Effectively communicate cross-functionally in a collaborative manner
• Proficient in Excel and able to develop clear and concise spreadsheets and reports
• Must Obtain lift certification within 30 days of start

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Associate degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in a production environment
• Experience in a food production environment
