Job summary

Bolthouse Farms in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd shift (10pm-6:30am). This full-time regular role tests, calibrates, installs, repairs and inspects monitoring devices and performs preventive maintenance.

Reports to the Assistant Manager; travel none; non-exempt status. Key duties include calibration protocols (4-20 mA, 0-10 VDC), coordinating between three shifts of instrument technicians, managing spare parts inventories, reducing repair costs, and maintaining

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in related field; or four (4+) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of database software, Intranet and Internet software, WMS Warehouse Management Systems
• Experience in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word and Access
• Proven, reliable work history
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact with a diverse employee population and with internal/external customers in an effective, professional manner
• Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze and interpret common /technical journals and drawings /diagrams, financial reports, and legal documents
• Ability to manage multiple projects/repairs simultaneously, set priorities, pro-actively resolve challenges in a fast paced, high pressure environment
• Excellent conflict resolution skills, diplomacy, and tact
• Previous experience in a fast paced, high volume food production/manufacturing facility
• Prior working knowledge of OSHA, GMP, FDA, USDA and EPA regulations
• Knowledge of JDE software

Responsibilities

• The primary function is to test, calibrate, install, repair and inspect monitoring and recording devices.
• Perform trouble-shooting and preventive maintenance and rebuilds on the same equipment.
• Protect the integrity and operation of these devices.
• Monitor and communicate operating shift activities with supervision and other shift’s departments
• Suggest predictive maintenance repairs to reduce downtime
