Job summary

MANN+HUMMEL Portage, MI is seeking a maintenance technician focused on injection molding production lines. You will troubleshoot, repair, and improve equipment, respond to downtime, and support mold changes and setup activities.

The role requires reading electrical schematics, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, and collaborating with production, engineering, and quality teams to maximize uptime and efficiency. Overtime and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical training or vocational education in maintenance preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting injection molding equipment strongly preferred.
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and manufacturing support systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Support mold changeovers and equipment setup activities as needed.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, manuals, and technical drawings.
• Troubleshoot motors, drives, sensors, conveyors, pumps, and automated production equipment.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures.
• Complete maintenance work orders and documentation accurately within the maintenance management system.
• Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on injection molding machines to maximize equipment reliability, uptime, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
