Job summary

Simplot Ontario GF Plant is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of all mechanical equipment across processing and packaging areas. You will perform lubrication, oil analysis, troubleshooting and repairs, with a focus on safety and GMP compliance.

You will disassemble/reassemble equipment, weld as needed, and participate in preventive maintenance and inventory management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of industrial or food processing mechanical experience required.
• Associate degree or technical certification is preferred.
• Must demonstrate qualification through a hands-on job skill evaluation.
• Incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid equipment operator’s license with a Lift Truck and platform within 30 days of starting the bid.
• Able to perform sound welds in accordance with welding code, standards, and project specifications including wire feed, stick, Heliarc, Oxy-Acetylene and sanitary welds.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must provide required tools administered at offer stage.

Responsibilities

• Lubricate pumps, motors, hydraulic systems and product transport systems per company or manufacturer specifications.
• Ensure oil inventories and storage areas are clean and in good working order.
• Perform oil analysis on identified equipment, send to lab, and apply corrective actions based on results.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment at the Water Recovery Plant to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair processing and cutting equipment to minimize downtime.
• Weld and fabricate on stainless steel, black iron, aluminum and other metals as required.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment throughout Water Recovery Plant and packaging areas.
• Perform painting, carpentry, cement masonry, plumbing, drywall and related crafts for maintenance.
• Set up mechanical and hydro cutting systems for production runs and maintain cutter heads and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and manage inventories, create work orders, and document shift events.
