CARE | Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency in Charlotte, NC seeks ICU technicians and assistants to provide high-level nursing care for hospitalized patients and support our specialists and ER veterinarians.

Positions include our 3rd shift ICU from 9pm to 7am with a $3/shift differential. Full-time schedules, potential overtime, and weekend/holiday requirements apply. Opportunities for growth and strong benefits are offered.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years veterinary technician experience required.
RVT preferred but not required.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted.
Emotionally intelligent with critical thinking.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians in all aspects of care.
Provide advanced nursing care to hospitalized patients.
Venipuncture: jugular, cephalic, saphenous.
IV catheter placement.
Laboratory analysis (automated and manual).
Digital radiology and imaging support.
Triage patients and anticipate veterinarians' needs.
Administer anesthesia induction and monitoring.
Provide compassionate client service.

CARE is seeking talented Registered Veterinary Technicians and Assistants to join our ICU team!

If you enjoy providing a high level of nursing care to your patients and going above and beyond to ensure the comfort, safety, and health of your patients then the ICU is where you belong! ICU technicians are responsible for providing exceptional nursing care for our hospitalized patients. ICU technicians care for all hospitalized specialty and emergency patients which affords you the opportunity to work with all of our specialists and ER veterinarians.

Shifts Available

3rd shift ICU: 9pm to 7am
- Work 7 days/ off 7 days
- $3/shift differential applies
All schedules offered are full‑time and overtime is available.
As a 24/7 hospital, some holidays and weekends will be required.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent
A minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience is required
RVT preferred but not required
Excellent written and verbal communication
The ability to lift up to 40lbs unassisted
Emotionally intelligent
Critical thinking
Able to safely restrain patients for extended periods of time
Proficient with technology including electronic medical record systems, automated lab analyzers, digital radiology
