Job summary

MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Machine Set-Up Operator Trainee for our Farmington Hills, Michigan facility. In this entry-level role, you will operate assigned mechanical equipment, inspect and measure parts, complete SPC checks, and support safe, quality-focused production.

You will work under direct supervision while building practical knowledge of manufacturing processes. You will gain hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, document production activities, adhere to 5S and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of experience.
• Ability to interpret work instructions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to address basic issues and elevate more complex problems when needed.
• Flexibility to train on 1st or 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned mechanical equipment in accordance with work instructions and established procedures.
• Gauge, visually inspect, and measure parts and perform SPC checks to verify quality requirements.
• Monitor production output and ensure items produced meet established quality control requirements.
• Follow established procedures for inspections, quality issues, and machine downtime, escalating more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Complete required production and quality documentation fully and accurately.
• Maintain an organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
