Job summary

Greif in Alsip, IL is seeking an entry‑level 3rd Shift IBC Blow Mold Operator to work 11:00 PM–7:30 AM, Monday through Friday with some Saturdays. Under direct supervision, you will operate and set up blow molding machinery and perform initial quality checks.

Responsibilities include changing over the line, grinding flash and rejected parts, performing visual inspections, conducting leak tests, and maintaining safety with PPE and daily housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machinery.
• Willingness to follow directions and work well in a team.

Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

Under direct supervision, performs entry-level routine activities associated with various types of assembly machine operation and/or setup.

Shift Details

3rd Shift 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM Mondays thru Fridays - Some Saturdays

Key Responsibilities

• Receives the bottle from the blow molder, realizes a visual inspection, removes the remaining flashes, checks the bottle’s for Contamination, weight, Install Metal Head on bottle, leak test and install plugs.
• Complete Verifies the quality of all work in process and all finished goods.
• To conduct and assist in changeovers.
• Grinding of flash and rejected parts
• Performs housekeeping duties such as sweeping, storing product, materials, tooling, and supplies.
• Performs count of inventory of component parts as needed.
• Pallet Jack utilization to transport product to designated area.
• May ensure that data entry processes are implemented.
• Incorporates and maintains safety observances, including but not limited to, use of PPE, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and up to 2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills

Willingness to follow directions and work well in a team. Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries. Fundamental understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.

Compensation Range: The pay for this position is $27.55 per hour. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
