Job summary

SpaceX in New York is seeking an HVAC Technician (Facilities) for the 3rd shift to maintain and repair critical climate control systems across our facilities. You will work with engineers and managers to keep air handlers, chillers, pumps and ventilation operating at peak efficiency.

A high school diploma, EPA 608, and 1+ years in HVAC or related fields are required; preferred AS degree and ARI familiarity, plus experience with JCI Metasys building systems and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EPA 608 Universal certificate.
• 1+ year of professional experience working with HVAC, pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair HVAC equipment on facilities systems including air handlers, chilled water, condenser pumps, cooling towers, valves, filters, boilers etc.
• Complete preventative maintenance schedule on facility and launch associated HVAC systems
• Collaborate with engineering and managers to maintain systems in peak operating condition
• Follow all regulations and appropriate SpaceX procedures including quality policies, safety policies, and standards per OSHA/EPA/NIOSH/NFPA/ASME/NEC
• Perform ductwork modifications and various repairs
• Perform brazing, soldering, evacuation & charging of various refrigerants
• Perform water piping and insulation modifications and repairs
• Assist with maintenance of compressed air and industrial door systems
