Job summary

Champion Personnel is seeking a dependable Heat Treat Operator / Manufacturing Technician in Willoughby, OH. This full-time role involves operating heat-treating equipment and furnaces, loading/unloading parts, and following detailed work instructions in an industrial setting.

The ideal candidate has hands-on manufacturing experience, basic mechanical skills, and a readiness to work weekends for overtime. Forklift experience and a strong emphasis on safety and quality are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, machine operation, metalworking, heat treating, or industrial production experience preferred
• Basic mechanical knowledge and math skills
• Ability to read work instructions, charts, and production paperwork
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to obtain forklift certification
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Availability for weekend overtime as needed

Responsibilities

• Set up, load, and unload industrial heat-treating equipment
• Operate furnaces, bake ovens, deep-freeze units, and related machinery
• Follow shop orders, process specifications, and detailed work instructions
• Inspect, identify, and mark parts to maintain quality and lot control
• Prepare thermocouples and monitor processing requirements
• Use forklifts, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and hoists
• Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and process deviations
• Assist with packing, shipping, receiving, and general material handling
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area
