Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc is hiring for a Full Time 3rd shift Packer/Inspector. The role inspects cartons for defects, packs products for shipment, and ensures accurate labeling and tagging in a fast-paced production setting.

Candidates must have basic math skills, be able to stand for long periods, and complete cGMP and QOP trainings. Drug screening after conditional offers is required. The company offers opportunities on a night shift with potential for long-term employment.

Responsibilities

• Verifies case label information to the carton and Electronic Job Jacket.
• Verifies case count with case label at the beginning of production run.
• Pulls samples for quality audit inspection.
• Pulls samples from each case for inspection of folding and gluing.
• Identifies last case of order with blue tape.
• Identifies last partial case with case label.
• Identifies non-conformity cartons with a flag on each case.
• Pulls three consecutive cartons when source tag is used and checks tags.
• Assists in line clearance upon order completion.
• Maintains cleaning and housekeeping of each gluer and department.
• Performs flat packing process.
• Sorts cartons in WIP and rework for quality defects.
• Feeds gluer as needed.
• Follows all safety, policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Complies with 5S and SQF guidelines and reports food safety concerns.
• Willing to work flexible hours.
