Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician for its Jacksonville DC. The role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and installing facility and automation equipment, with emphasis on safety and uptime.

Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, wiring and welding tasks, and coordinating with the Facilities Manager to minimize downtime. Flexibility for overtime and weekend work is required to support operations.

Qualifications

• Basic computer proficiency to input work performed and use MS Outlook.
• Ability to MIG and Stick Weld and use tools effectively and safely.
• Operate all powered facility equipment including yard trucks, forklifts, and maintenance vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on facility equipment and automation.
• Adheres to safety policies (lockout/tagout) to ensure a safe work environment.
• Communicates status of repairs with Facilities Manager and Operations teams.
• Performs project work to support warehouse operations and building projects.
• Keeps CMMS, work orders, and inventory up to date.
