Job summary

The Michaels Companies is hiring a 3rd Shift Facilities Technician at the Jacksonville DC to maintain, repair, and install facility and automation equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance on conveyors and powered equipment, follow safety policies, and coordinate with Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities include keeping CMMS up to date, handling basic building systems, welding with MIG and Stick, reading blueprints, and supporting projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional training is a plus.
• 1+ years of related experience in maintenance or similar role.
• Ability to read drawings/blueprints and use basic diagnostic tools.
• Safety-conscious with knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures.
• Welding skills: MIG and Stick welding.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on conveyor systems and powered equipment.
• Repair building systems such as air compressors, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical as needed.
• Maintain CMMS and manage work orders and inventory.
• Coordinate with Facilities Manager; communicate status and downtime impact.
• Support projects to aid warehouse operations; overtime/weekend as needed.

All work performed must adhere to all safety policies/procedures (e.g., lockout/tagout) in order to maintain a safe working environment for all.* Performs repairs/preventive maintenance on building equipment such as air compressors, heating/ventilation, and plumbing/electrical.
