Job summary

EK is seeking a fabrication supervisor to lead 3rd shift staff, set up and operate fabricating machines, and ensure parts meet specifications. You will coordinate with the Fabrication Manager and 1st shift supervisors on performance and safety.

A combination of education and experience is acceptable, with emphasis on leadership and machine skills. The role requires overseeing workload preparation, machine operation, and ongoing training for new 3rd shift workers, plus maintaining clean, safe

Qualifications

  • AA degree or equivalent, or 3–5 years related experience and/or training.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data.
  • Cleans and organizes work area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Programs, sets up, and operates all machines.
  • Prepares workload for the machines running on 3rd shift per manager's instructions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Leads employees on 3rd shift in the Fabrication Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance. Reports to the Fabrication Manager any problems and issues that arise.

Education And/Or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before top management, middle managers, groups of customers, or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
