LJP Waste Solutions is seeking a reliable 3rd Shift Supervisor to oversee evening operations in North Mankato, MN. You will coordinate waste processing, safety compliance, and a coordinated team effort to meet production goals.

Lead a shift, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement while upholding safety standards. The role emphasizes strong leadership, hands-on supervision of heavy equipment, and the ability to train and develop team members on evenings and weekends as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience operating or supervising heavy equipment including forklifts, skid loaders, or front-end loaders.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to learn and retain plant processes, operational procedures, and team responsibilities.
• Availability to work evenings, overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as needed.
• Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the 3rd shift team by setting clear expectations and supporting daily operational goals.
• Foster a positive, teamwork-focused work environment through communication, coaching, and problem-solving.
• Address operational or personnel concerns promptly and professionally.
• Support employee development and accountability throughout the shift.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Conduct routine safety checks and ensure compliance with operational procedures.
• Lead safety meetings and identify potential workplace hazards.
• Implement corrective actions to reduce risk and improve workplace safety.
• Oversee waste processing, sorting, and transportation activities to ensure operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with supervisors, operators, drivers, and maintenance personnel to maintain continuity across shifts.
• Optimize workflow, equipment usage, and staffing resources to support production goals.
• Ensure loaders, forklifts, balers, and other equipment are operated safely and correctly.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Coordinate maintenance support to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
• Provide training and guidance to new and existing team members.
• Reinforce safety standards, best practices, and operational expectations.
• Support workforce development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor productivity, operational performance, and incident reporting.
• Provide shift summaries and communicate operational updates to management.
• Identify areas for improvement and recommend operational efficiencies.
