Job summary

New Pig Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift (10:30 pm – 7:00 am) in Altoona, PA. The role focuses on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairing equipment to keep production running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has strong PLC and motor drive skills, experience with Allen-Bradley systems, and the ability to read CAD drawings and design layouts. The job requires OT/weekend availability and a commitment to Lean manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision.
3 years related experience in production maintenance environment.
Motor drive and PLC tech level experience; Certifications a plus.
Experience with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) and industrial power systems.
Hydraulic and pneumatic power systems knowledge.
Familiarity with hand and maintenance shop tools (micrometers, calipers, tape measure).
Experience reading design drawings for fabrication; CAD drawings in particular.
Basic math skills including fractions; proficiency with MS Office.
Willingness to seek job-related training or certifications.

Responsibilities

Support 3rd shift production to troubleshoot and repair equipment to a safe, proper working condition.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment at multiple locations using CMMS.
Document PMs, repairs and information in CMMS for records and metrics.
Collaborate with maintenance team to meet output, quality and financial goals.
Ensure machine uptimes and process capabilities meet schedules.
Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and controls.
Install power distribution equipment including sub panels and wiring.
Troubleshoot and maintain machine control systems (drives, relays, networks, PLCs).
Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical systems (motors, gearboxes, power transmission).
Manage critical spare parts inventory to ensure availability.
Support Manufacturing Engineering by fabricating and installing custom equipment via machining centers, plasma cutting, welding.
Aid in development and maintenance of maintenance training programs.
Lean Manufacturing—facilitate lean deployment to eliminate wastes.
