Job summary

Green Bay Packaging is seeking a maintenance technician for straight 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 10pm–6am) with overtime possible. Responsibilities include installing and maintaining industrial machinery, reading blueprints and diagrams, and ensuring a safe work environment.

Preferred candidates have knowledge of AC/DC wiring, PLCs, VFDs, hydraulics and pneumatics, and experience with CMMS. Qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 2-year associate degree or current pursuit preferred for advanced maintenance roles.
• Experience with industrial electrical, mechanical systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Works safely and follows all related policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
• Read electrical and hydraulic diagrams to determine work requirements.
• Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and equipment using hand and power tools.
• Inspect machinery for irregularities and malfunctions.
• Maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; perform troubleshooting.
• Operate hoisting devices (cranes, jacks, forklifts) during installation and repair.
• Perform routine maintenance and lubrication on machinery.
• Other tasks and projects as assigned.

Job description

Responsibilities

Straight 3rd shift. Sunday - Thursday 10pm-6am. Overtime hours will be required both during the week and on some weekends.

Preferred knowledge areas

• AC/DC wiring methods
• AC/DC drives/motors/ VFD's & servo motors
• PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, B&R, Beckhoff)
• HMI
• Mechanical systems (bearing, alignment, chains, belts)
• Pneumatics and hydraulics
• Design and fabricating is a plus but not required
• Preventive & predictive maintenance on production machinery
• Mill and Lathe experience is a plus but not required
• Fanuc/Robot experience is a plus
• Experience using a CMMS system
• Conveyor systems

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Works safely and follows all related policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
• Reading blueprints, diagrams, electrical schematic and hydraulic drawings to determine work requirements
• Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, and conveyors according to layout plans using hand and power tools
• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Adjust machinery and troubleshoot defective parts
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks and forklifts, to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance/preventative work on machinery
• Other job tasks and projects as assigned

Qualifications

All candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have or be working towards a minimum of a 2-year associate degree.
