Job summary

Maker's Pride in Michigan City, IN is seeking an Electrician to maintain and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment in our manufacturing facility. You will help ensure that production machinery runs safely and efficiently and perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical cert/associate preferred.
• Proven experience as electrical or mechanical technician in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of motors, control circuits, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Willingness to work nights/overtime and to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues with testing equipment.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as motors and control devices.
• Calibrate and adjust equipment to production specifications.
• Follow safety protocols and comply with electrical/mechanical codes.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Document maintenance activities, parts used, and costs incurred.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and order replacements as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability.
• Train and mentor junior technicians on maintenance tasks.
