Qualifications

• Requires thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and specifications, equipment, and safety requirements.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications and determine press usage and materials.
• Skill to set controls, adjust settings, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Skill in routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Knowledge of packing pressure for correct printing pressure.
• Skill in mounting and aligning printing plates with a micrometer.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment.
• Perform make-ready tasks such as hanging plates or installing cylinders and checking images.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specs.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press and replace worn parts.
• Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
