Job summary

Abbyland Trucking is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for the 3rd shift to provide service and maintenance on tractors and trailers in Curtiss, Wisconsin. The role requires performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs, including brakes, lighting, tires, and engine components, with safety and quality in mind.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in a related discipline and 2–5 years of experience; Abbyland offers training and a tool program for those without tools.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in related discipline is desired.
• 2–5 years of related trade experience preferred; training offered.
• Abbyland provides a tool program for experienced mechanics without tools.

Responsibilities

• Punch time clock to generate work orders for assigned duties.
• Communicate with service manager to determine needs and advise work done.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections using standard shop equipment.
• Perform state and federal inspections as required.
• Diagnose mechanical problems using manuals and experience.
• Repair, overhaul or replace components like gears, valves, starters, pumps.
• Replace and adjust lights, brakes, tires; test drive if CDL qualified.
• Drive service vehicle to pick up parts and respond to road calls.
